Project Description
Brief
The Multimodal Challenge is a new event of the Smarter Travel Workplaces & Campus programme. It is open to staff of our partner workplaces and staff and students of all Third Level Campuses who are partners of the programme. This includes University of Limerick, University College Dublin, Dublin Institute of Technology, Cook Medical, Apple, St. Vincent’s University Hospital, Deloitte and ESB.
The aim of the challenge is to encourage people to walk, cycle, run, take public transport and car share on the commute to work/college in particular. It’s a team event with participants forming teams of 3-6 people (including the captain) and getting to work/campus using the various modes of transport.
Participants set up an account on our active travel logger www.activetravellogger.ie , join the challenge and set up their team. Throughout the challenge each team member will enter their trips, they will be awarded points for their trips during the challenge. There will be weekly leaderboards showing the average points per team. Spot prizes will be awarded throughout and there will be prizes for those at the top of the final leaderboard at the end of the challenge.
As this is a new event a style/theme and name for the challenge are needed.
